Changing benefits due to life events
IRS Section 125 guidelines prohibit certain changes in benefits elections during the plan year with the exception of IRS-approved "life events." In most cases, the request to change coverage must be submitted no later than 31 days after the life event and documentation must be provided.
To request a life event change, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include in the email:
- Your name
- The life event (adoption or birth of a child, etc.)
- Date of life event
- The name of spouse and/or dependent impacted by this change
