Voluntary Health Plan
UGA students who are not required to have health insurance may purchase
the voluntary plan if they are (a) enrolled in six (6) or more semester
hours or (b) participating in Cooperative Education Programs.
The voluntary plan is an accident and sickness insurance policy that includes
diagnosis and/or treatment of illness, injury, or medical conditions. Benefits
include physician, hospital, surgical, pharmacy, behavioral health services
(mental health / substance abuse), as well as legally mandated benefits.

Voluntary plan premiums
Premiums for individual students in the Voluntary Plan are as follows:
Fall semester 2008: $581
Spring/summer semesters 2009: $770
Total academic year: $1351.00
Students may also purchase health insurance coverage for their spouses
and children for an additional premium.

- Enroll and pay with a credit card or check
The University premium contribution does not apply to the voluntary plan.
